Very Butterscotch Brownies Recipe
- 1/2 cup butter or margarine
- 2 cups dark brown sugar
- 2 eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 2 teaspoons baking powder
- 1 1/2 cups flour
- 1/2 10 oz. jar Top Hat Butterscotch Sauce
Pre-heat oven to 350. Generously grease two 8x8" baking pans. Melt butter or margarine in saucepan; cool. Add brown sugar and eggs and mix well. Stir and mix in vanilla, salt and baking powder. Add flour and blend.
Divide batter between baking pans and spread evenly. Brownies will be thin. Bake for 15 to 20 minutes, or until just beginning to pull away from sides of pans. Remove from oven and cool in pans.
Meanwhile, warm Butterscotch Sauce in pan of hot water. When brownie layers are cool, spread half jar of Butterscotch Sauce over one pan of brownies. Carefully remove other brownie layer from second pan and stack on sauced layer. Press gently and cut into bars.
